Comparison

Which is right for a solo private coach: Dynamos, CoachNow, OnForm or CoachIQ?

Pricing checked 29 October 2026 against coachnow.com/pricing, onform.com/pricing, coachiq.io/pricing and dynamos.app/pricing.

These four are not competing for the same job. Two are video review apps, one is an operations platform for facilities, and one is organized around the follow-up after the session ends. Every competitor figure below was read from the vendor's own pricing page on 29 October 2026, and every CoachNow price appears, at every tier and both cadences, because a comparison that cherry-picks tiers is worth nothing.

Who each tool is actually for

Dynamos turns a session into a recap. Record or upload the clip, review the cues Dynamos drafts, edit them until they sound like your coaching, and send the approved version to the athlete and family. It is organized around two or three actionable cues plus the next step, in about two minutes, with progress carrying across sessions.

CoachNow is video analysis and coach-athlete communication. Spaces give each athlete or group somewhere to post clips and comments, and higher tiers add scheduling, billing and automation. If most of your coaching is film it, mark it up, and send it back, CoachNow does that well.

OnForm is video analysis for individual and technical sports, with multi-cam and 3D. Standard allows two angles and Pro allows four, and Pro adds 3D visualizations and kinematic sequence for golf. If the value in your coaching sits in frame-by-frame mechanics, OnForm does that better than anything else here.

CoachIQ is a business platform, not a video tool: website builder, athlete portal, scheduling, payments, forms, CRM and automations. It targets facilities and multi-location operators, with the $99 plan as the way in for an independent coach.

Pricing checked 29 October 2026 against coachnow.com/pricing, onform.com/pricing, coachiq.io/pricing and dynamos.app/pricing. OnForm prices are shown at the monthly cadence; their page opens on the quarterly toggle, where the Coach plans are charged at $53.99, $107.99 and $161.99 per quarter. Features are as stated on each vendor's pricing page, and where a feature is not listed there the table says so rather than inferring it.

The tier a solo coach needs assumes 15 to 25 active athletes. A coach working with three or fewer would pay $9 for Dynamos Pro, or nothing at all.

Starting a solo practice: the signup question

The most durable difference here is not a feature. It is whether you can begin today.

CoachIQ has no self-serve signup. No signup form, no trial. The page offers a demo, and the $99 Starter Coach plan is reached through it. Their FAQ says the site points buyers toward a walkthrough before pricing is finalized. For a facility weighing a large operations decision that is sensible. For a solo coach with 20 lessons a week who wants to stop texting clips at nine in the evening, it is a gate, and the gate is a business model rather than a page nobody built.

The other three let you start without a call. CoachNow offers 7 days through its app, OnForm 14 days with no card, and Dynamos a free plan with one analysis a month, so you can put a real session through it first.

And on tiering, said once and without scorekeeping: CoachNow's entry plan for a solo coach is $9.99 a month, not $89.99. The $89.99 figure is a real price, but it buys calendar, billing and multi-coach tooling that a single coach may never open. Any comparison that prices a solo coach at $89.99 is quoting a tier they do not need, so this page lists all three and lets you pick.

Features get matched. OnForm could ship a recap card next quarter and CoachNow could rebuild its progress view, and neither would change how a coach gets through the door.

What each one costs, tier by tier

CoachNow has three tiers, each priced monthly or annually. Analyze is $9.99 a month or $59 a year, for 5 Spaces and 250 media items. PRO is $49.99 a month or $499 a year, with unlimited Spaces. Academy is $89.99 a month or $899 a year, adding calendar, billing, automation and multi-coach pricing. All six prices are here even though quoting the $89.99 tier alone would flatter Dynamos, because leaving tiers out is the trick that makes a comparison untrustworthy.

OnForm is $19.99 a month for Coach Basic, $39.99 for Standard and $59.99 for Pro. The page states a monthly, quarterly and yearly figure per plan: $53.99, $107.99 and $161.99 per quarter, and $199.99, $399.99 and $599.99 per year. It opens on the quarterly toggle, so $53.99 is the first number a visitor sees against Coach Basic. That is a quarterly charge, not a monthly price, which makes it the easiest figure here to misread. There is a 14-day trial with no card, and coached athletes record and share for free.

CoachIQ is $99 a month for Starter Coach, for independent coaches. Facility packages are quoted at demo, and fees and add-ons are extra. The fees earn their own section below.

Dynamos starts at $0 on Free with one analysis a month. Pro is $9 for unlimited analyses up to three athletes, adding the parent dashboard, coach-approved recaps, PDF reports and priority processing. Coach is $49 with a 25-player roster, per-player progress and a batch queue. Academy is $199 with five coach accounts and up to 100 players. Academy+ is custom above that. There is a 14-day trial, billing through Stripe, and no contracts.

Where a competitor is cheaper, it is cheaper. OnForm at $39.99 comes in below Dynamos Coach at $49 and CoachNow PRO at $49.99. At entry, CoachNow at $9.99 sits just above Dynamos Pro at $9, and Dynamos Free sits below both, at $0.

What the fees cost a coach who bills through the platform

Only one of these four states its own percentage fee on top of card processing. CoachIQ charges 1% plus $0.20 per transaction on top of Stripe's 2.9% plus $0.30.

A worked example, with the volume an assumption rather than a measurement: $2,000 a month across 20 payments of $100. Stripe takes $3.20 per payment, so $64. CoachIQ takes $1.20 each, so $24. That is $88 in fees on $2,000, or 4.4%. Add the $99 subscription and the month costs $187 before a payment reaches the coach.

The same $2,000 through Stripe alone carries $64. That gap is the real price of consolidation, worth costing deliberately rather than discovering in month three. Dynamos and OnForm take no share of client payments because neither processes them. On CoachNow's $89.99 tier invoicing runs through Stripe Connect, so Stripe's terms apply, and their page does not say whether CoachNow adds a fee.

Where Dynamos is the wrong choice

Two cases, stated plainly, because a comparison that suits everyone is worth neither reading nor linking to.

If your coaching depends on deep 3D biomechanics, kinematic sequencing or multi-camera work, OnForm is the better tool and this page will not pretend otherwise. Standard gives two angles, Pro four, and the 3D visualizations and kinematic sequence sit in Pro. Dynamos works from a session clip and produces a written recap. It is not a motion capture product.

If you run a facility with payroll, retail, staff scheduling and more than one location, CoachIQ is the better fit and the demo is worth 20 minutes. It has the website, portal, payments, forms, CRM and automations in one system, and facility pricing scales with locations. Dynamos has a five-coach Academy tier and team analytics, but it is not a business operating system. Buying it to run retail would be a mistake.

Dynamos is built for the coach whose problem is the gap between one session and the next. If your problem sits elsewhere, one of the other three is the better purchase.

Frequently asked questions

How much does CoachNow cost?

Three tiers, each at a monthly or annual price. Analyze is $9.99 a month or $59 a year. PRO is $49.99 a month or $499 a year. Academy is $89.99 a month or $899 a year. All six appear here, because quoting only the $89.99 tier would make CoachNow look nine times more expensive to a solo coach than its entry plan is.

Is OnForm $19.99 a month, or is $53.99 the real price?

Both are real, and they are different things. OnForm states a monthly, quarterly and yearly figure per plan. Coach Basic is $19.99 monthly and $53.99 quarterly. Standard is $39.99 and $107.99. Pro is $59.99 and $161.99. The $53.99 is a quarterly charge, not a monthly price. Their page opens on the quarterly toggle, which is why most visitors see it first.

Does CoachIQ have a free trial?

No. CoachIQ is demo-led. The pricing page offers a 20-minute demo rather than a signup form, and their FAQ says the site points buyers to a walkthrough before pricing is finalized.

Can a solo coach sign up for CoachIQ without booking a demo?

No. CoachIQ has no self-serve signup. The $99 Starter Coach plan is for independent coaches getting started, but reaching it runs through a demo. CoachNow, OnForm and Dynamos each let you start today without a call.

Which of these is best for a solo private coach?

By one question: whether you need to bill clients through the platform. For reviewing video and sending a useful follow-up, CoachNow from $9.99, OnForm from $19.99 and Dynamos from $0 all start without a demo. For a facility with payroll and retail, CoachIQ is the fit.

What does CoachIQ cost on top of the $99 subscription?

CoachIQ charges 1% plus $0.20 per transaction on top of Stripe's 2.9% plus $0.30. At $2,000 a month across 20 payments of $100, that is $64 to Stripe and $24 to CoachIQ, so $88 in fees before the $99 subscription.

Does Dynamos charge transaction fees?

No. Dynamos does not process client payments, so there is no fee stack and nothing is taken from what you bill. The tradeoff is that it will not invoice or collect for you either.

What is a session recap, and how is it different from video analysis?

Video analysis is the clip and the markup on it. A session recap is the written conclusion that comes out of it: two or three cues in plain language, the moment each refers to, and the next thing to practice. CoachNow and OnForm are strong at the first. Dynamos is built around the second.
